A Reflection on God’s Love
I sat in the park one beautiful, spring afternoon feeling disillusioned and abandoned my
husband, Kevin walked out on me, “Is there any integrity in this world?” I asked God in
prayer. “Is there any love in this world?”
These words came to my mind, “Do you hear the birds sing? The song is within them.”
“Do you see how the sun shines? The light is within it.”
“Integrity is within you.” “Love is within you.” “You are a reflection of my love,
because I am within you.”
A Beautiful Woman
What is a beautiful woman? Can a woman be too physically beautiful? Marlyn Monroe was physically beautiful but never found love because she did not know the giver of love, Jesus Christ. She was a sex object to the whole world, but hated herself because of the rejection of her childhood.
What is a beautiful woman? True beauty is inside a woman. She wears the robe of righteousness and is clothed with dignity and honor. Her eyes sparkle with compassion, love and forgiveness. She focuses on the fine, good qualities of others and looks beneath their shortcomings to find the hero in then. She brings out the best in others because s she looks for it. She embraces life and enjoys the little things like a freshly scrubbed floor, baking bread, canning pickles, making a dress, reading a child a story, singing a song, doing the dishes, picking wild flowers and watching a sunset.
She is quick to forgive, slow to anger and does not hold a grudge. She thinks about what would be good for others and tries to do it. She is not a wimp. But her strength is in love, faithfulness, kindness, compassion, commitment and integrity. She knows how to stand up for a cause in the midst of a storm. From the deep part of her soul she cries real tears for the ones she loves. She will stand behind them, expect the best of them and stand her ground in defending them even when no one else does. She knows how to reach out to the heart of God in prayer as she pours her deepest feelings out to him on behalf of others. Her identity is not in the clothes she wears, the shape of her body or how young she looks. She is not interested in the praise of men but puts her thoughts on how to help others. She seeks ways to encourage the discouraged, give hope to those in despair and instill a vision in the hearts of those who have lost their dreams. She is quick to repent and seek the heart of God when selfishness tries to take root in her soul. Rich or poor, she has learned to be happy and seeks to make beauty out of the humblest abode. Sick or well, she lives by faith and has learned to be content in whatever circumstance she is in. The garden of her soul is planted in the heart of God and her roots grow deep in His love. Beautiful women come in all shapes, sizes, ages and colors but there is one quality they all have in common, they know how to LOVE because God is within them.
May God make me a beautiful woman.
The two beautiful women that have made a great impact on my life are:Corrie Ten Boom who hid Jewish people in her attic and survived a concentration camp during WWII. She is a beautiful woman that tells us that there is not pit so deep or dungeon so dark for God’s love to sine in it. Joni Earrickson Tada broke her neck in a swimming accident in 1967 at the age of 17. Because she has lived her life in a wheelchair she has brought hope and healing to multitudes through her singing, testimony, writing, and art. With a paint brush or pen between her teeth she paints beautiful pictures. I have known many beautiful women. My sister Susie, my daughters Kimberly and Debra. The women I have worked with at the Pregnancy Help Center Erma, Rita and Brook. May God make us all beautiful women fulfilling His purpose in our lives.
Come Away My Beloved
Forget the former things.
Don’t dwell on the past.
Don’t carry the sins of your past into your future. For I have removed them from the east to the west.
Don’t carry the sins of others into your future. For as you forgive, so do I.
Come away my beloved to a place filled with love, joy and peace.
Come with me my beloved, for I have loved you with an everlasting love.
Let me fill you with my presence as my thoughts fill you heart and mind.
Come away my beloved, for you are precious in my sight.
And I will give you the power to heal the broken hearted and set the captive free.
As I heal your broken heart and set you free.
You are my beloved princess. I have loved you with an everlasting love.
Let go of all that would distract you of living in my presence.
Remember who you are.
You are my princess, my bride, my beloved.
So forget the former things. Don’t dwell on the past.
For I am doing a new thing. Even now it springs forth.
