Gods Love; A Mothers Love
It was a cold winter night and all the animals were safe in the barn. The farmer had left a space heater in
the barn to keep it warm. A spark hit a piece of hay and the barn was on fire. All the animals cried out
for help, but no one came. The horses tried to kick the doors down, but it was no use. The mother hen
called her seven chicks to get under her wing to protect them from the great danger ahead. One of the
chicks kept running in circles crying, “I want to be free. I want to be free.”
“Come my precious little chick. You must get under my wing or you will perish in the fire,” the mother
“Oh, but mother, it is so much fun out here. I don’t want to get under your wing.”
The fire rose and the little chick began to cough and cry, “Mother, help.”
She lifted her wing and the little chick ran to get under her protection. The mother hen covered her chicks
with her wings and body putting her head down as the fire roared through the barn destroying every
animal, board and piece of straw.
The farmer grieved as he walked through the ashes of where his barn once stood. “All is lost,” he told

We have been promised that in the world we will have tribulations, but Christ has overcome the world.
The fires of sin engulf us causing all to perish. But those who hide under the shelter of the Lord Jesus
Christ will not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God so loved the World, that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, so that anyone who
believes in Him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. God did not send His son to condemn, but to
save that which was lost.
Just as the mother hen gave her life to save her babies, so the Lord Jesus Christ gave his life to save us by
covering us with His righteousness.
