On May 22, 2011 in Joplin, Missouri a city of 50,000 experienced the deadliest tornado since 1950. The storm ripped through business and residential areas for 20 minutes, killing 160 men, women and children. Since that devastating event people from all over the country have reached out to help. A waitress in Joplin said, “I have never seen such caring people in all my life as are here in Joplin. Everyone has reached out each other, even those who had lost a lot themselves. I’m from L.A. and I was going to go back. But since the tornado hit, I have decided to stay in this caring community.”
Pregnancy Help Centers from Missouri joined together to take baby items, food, formula and diapers to Joplin after the tornado swept through the city. LifeChoices Medical Clinic located at 531 E. 7th Street, Joplin, Missouri 64801 distributed baby food, formula and diapers throughout the Joplin area. Richard and Patricia Dascher delivered a truck load of much needed baby items that had been donated by the Lake Area Community; Sunrise Beach, Camdenton, Lake Ozarks, Laurie, Greenview and Osage Beach.
