Satisfy Your Cravings Without Guilt
These are lower calorie, healthier ways to satisfy your cravings. These foods should be eaten in addition to a healthy diet, not in place of one. If you crave something specific it is best to have a little of that before you eat anything else.
If you crave fries, bread or chips try:
Baked fries
Baked Potato with a little ranch or blue cheese dressing or fat free yogurt and butter
Baked Sweet potato with salt, brown sugar, and butter
Sweet potato fries
Baked chips
Plain corn chips with low fat bean dip and salsa
Low fat popcorn
Soy Nuts
Nuts (small handful)
Hummus and whole wheat Pita bread
If you crave sweets try:
Fruit Smoothies
Fruit- dried, frozen or fresh
Hot tea with honey
Cereal- Kashi, Oatmeal, Uncle Sam, Cheerios, Shredded Wheat, Granola
Frozen yogurt or low fat ice cream
Ice cream sandwiches
Low fat pudding
Cinnamon Toast
If you crave chocolate try:
Hot chocolate
Fudge sickles
Chocolate milk (soy, skim or 2%)
HotCocoa(milk, sugar, cocoa)
Semi-sweet chocolate chips
Plain milk chocolate- 5 kisses, ½ Hershey Bar
If you’ve just got the munchies:
Hot tea
Cider
Carrot sticks or other vegetables
Fruit
