A Fathers and Daughters Prayer
The third chapter in the book of Zachariah tells of Joshua standing before the Angel of the Lord and satan. He is accused by satan. His clothes are filthy with sin. The angel of the Lord took his filthy clothes and covered him with clean, righteous clothes. God does that for us through Jesus. Jesus takes our sin and covers us with His righteousness. All God sees is the righteousness of His Son, Christ.
Good morning my precious Lord. You are my joy and hope. Oh Lord, I know I talk too much. A friend asked how I was doing and I gave him a long story. He didn’t want to hear that. In fact Father, most people don’t really want to hear how others are doing. After I spent five minutes telling my long story of how I am doing, he said, “I’ll pray for you.”
I always give too much information. I remember when my sister-in-law was dying of cancer. People asked how she was doing and I shared the struggle and heartache. Most just didn’t want to hear it. Lord, I keep giving more information than others want to hear. People don’t really care even if they ask. I give my mouth, heart and soul to you. Help me to know when to speak and when to be quiet. You can pour your heart out to me. As a father wants his children to talk to him, I want you to talk to
me.
Fathers often don’t want to hear what their children have to say. If their children talk too much or tell the
same story over and over again it can frustrate them. Sometimes they have more respect for what their
sons have to say than their daughters.
Earthly fathers are not perfect. I am your Heavenly Father. I long for you to pour out your heart to
me and to trust me in all things. Forgive and pray for those who fail, knowing that I have forgiven
you. As you pour out your heart to me, I will give you my perspective on your circumstances.
WOW, how wonderful Lord that you would talk to someone like me. How awesome is it that you
would care about me. What a wonderful promise that I can pour out my heart to you and receive your
perspective on life. So I give you my deepest thoughts. First I want to thank you for my grandchildren.
Please protect and guide them. Pour out your spirit upon them and heal all their wounds. Guide them in
the way they should go and hand pick the people they come in contact with and their future mates. Thank
you Lord.
I want to thank you Lord for my children. You love them more than I. Bless and guide them. Prosper
them and heal all their wounds. Bless their mates and fill them with your presence. And turn any
mistakes their father or I made with them into a blessing.
Walk not in the counsel of the ungodly. Nor sit in the seat of the scornful. But delight in me and I will
give you the desires of your heart. You will be like a tree planted by streams of water bearing fruit and
strength as your roots grow deep in me.
Wow, thank you. Thank You. Thank YOU.
